Editing your Vocabulary

One strength of Scribe is that words which have been declared as "synonyms" can be interchanged for one another just about anywhere within the game. To edit the vocabulary, click the 'Vocabulary' button from the main menu.

You'll then see a large text area with every word known by your game. Note that the first entry on each line is a number-- These should NOT be changed! Those are the ID's associated with all the words on a given line. To create synonyms for the words, you would simply add them to the same line as the other words it would be interchangable with (making sure there's a space between each word!).

You should also notice that the default vocabulary of Scribe already has several synonyms inserted. As having these synonyms in place can make playing your new game much less frustrating, it would be in your best interest to add as many synonyms for words that would make sense.

Once you've made changes to the vocabulary list, click 'Update Vocabulary' and you should see the window refresh into all uppercase again. When you're satisfied with the vocabulary, click 'Return to Menu' to go back to the main menu.
