 Editing Locations
To describe the locations your player will visit, you'll want to click on the 'Edit Locations' button from the main menu.
You'll want to pay particular attention to Location ID 0. This is the starting location of your adventure, and will be where the player starts the game from. To edit this location, you'll want to make sure it's listed under the Current Locations: dropdown box, then click the 'Edit Location' button to begin editing it.
First, you'll want to enter a more descriptive name for the location (nothing too elaborate, but so you'll be able to tell it apart from the other locations you'll make). For example, if you're starting out in a house of some sort, the name might be something like "Hallway (Southern end)". The Description field is where you'll elaborate on
the location-- You'll want to describe it in as much detail as possible, including information such as which directions the exits are, and possibly what's there. (ie, "The Hallway continues to the north, the living room is to the west, and to the south is the porch."). If the location requires artificial lighting in order to see, you'll want to
check the box for 'Location is dark by default'. (If a location is dark, and the player doesn't have a source of light -- which we'll get to later -- The description will simply read "It's dark; you're not able to see anything."). Once you're happy with the information, click the 'Add/Update Location' button to store the location information into your game.
To create new locations, you'll simply need to insert a unique ID for the location, and the information as before. To quickly get the next available Location ID (to create a new location), you can click the "+" button to the left of the ID Field. It will automatically put in the next available ID.
To edit other locations, simply select them in the Current Locations box, then click 'Edit Location.' If you want to delete a location, select it in Current Locations, then click Delete Location. Once you're done with your locations, click 'Return to Main Menu' to go back to the main menu.
